ARYA TARA NUNS WHO WENT TO VARANASI
Three students of the Arya Tara School, namely Ani Pema Wangmo, Ani Choying Sangmo, and Ani Kunchok Paldon on graduation from class 8 went to Varanasi in February 2007. They have been taking extra tuitions for English, Hindi and Tibetan as preparation for their entrance examinations in July for the Acharya Degree in Varanasi University in 2007. This requires nine years of full time studies and is equivalent to a Masters Degree. Three nuns of Arya Tara School, namely Ani Pema Lakhey, Ani Pema Rinchen Palmo, and Ani Tenzin Sangmo were admitted to the Varanasi University in 2006 and have been studying there for a year now. However Ani Pema Lakhey returned to Nepal a month before her first examination at Varanasi University due to poor health. But in February 2007 Ani Pema Lakhey together with three other nuns namely Ani Pema Wangmo, Ani Kunchok Palden and Ani Choying Sangmo went to Varanasi to take further tuitions to appear in the forthcoming entrance examinations of the session 2007.
