Thanka Painting
Our Thanka Painting School was established in the year 2007 with the support of Kinderhilfe Nepal, NRNA (Non-Resident Nepalese Association), and Edda Wolfe.
All the nuns have the opportunity to learn this important and ancient art form. Thanka Painting art form is usually encourages to be learnt by the boys or monks but Ani Choying Drolma believes that nuns or girls are also capable of learning this art form.
Mr. Temba Chomphel leads the school as head Thanka Painter. He is highly skilled and talented teacher of this traditional Tibetan art form. With the skills and guidance, the nuns at Arya Tara have been keenly progressing at their painting skills. (Class run for two hours every Monday to Friday)
