Under the umbrella of Nuns’ Welfare Foundation and in cooperation with Prison Assistance Nepal (PAN) the social activist and singer Ani Choying Drolma donated 25.000NRS in order to pay for the bail amount of four (4) imprisoned women from the Kathmandu jail.

Three of the four women had to face the poor and appalling prison environment because they were unable to pay the fine of 5000 NRS/person for false documents. They had been issued with falsified travel documents by some agents who are the real perpetrators in these cases. The women wanted to escape from their deprived living circumstances and looked for job opportunities abroad in order to support their children and families in Nepal. In spite of commencement with the new job in a foreign country they had been caught by custom officers and were send to prison in Kathmandu as they had no money to pay the sentence bail ordered by the immigration office.

The fourth woman had been sent to Kathmandu jail because of a public offense case. She also has been unable to pay the fine which had been ordered by the Administration Office.

After the Pre-selection by PAN and the in depth assessment of the four cases by two (2) NWF board members, Ani Choying Drolma was pleased to be able to help these selected women and provide them with the chance to resume with their life's in Nepal.
