Matakala

The latest album of Ani Choying Drolma is Matakala.  Matakala is Anis' first Newari language album.  The meaning of "Matakala" is "The Hot-Air Balooon".  All songs are penned by Veteran Lyricist Durga Lal Shrestha and the music is composed by Nhyoo Bajracharya.   All th proceeds from this CD goes to Nuns' Welfare Foundation of Nepal.

Discription on Newari Language:-

Nepal Bhaaye is known as Newah Bhaye and Newai and Newari.  It is one of the major languages of Nepal.  It is one of roughly five hundreds Sino-Tibetan languages, and belongs to the Tibetao-Burman branch of this family.  It is the only Tibeto-Tibetan languages to be written in Devanagari script.  It is spoken mainly by the Newars, who chiefly inhabit the towns of the Kathmandu Valley.  Although Nepal Bhasa is classified as a Sino-Tibetan language, it has been greatly influenced by the Indo-Aryan languages.

Farewell to our dear friend, Mr. Kay Ehrbar

On the 24^th of March, 2009 Arya Tara School hosted a farewell party to a close friend of the school, Mr. Kay Ehrbar, who has been helping Nuns’ Welfare Foundation of Nepal for many years now and has worked as a volunteer at Arya Tara School too. Arya Tara School family wanted to take this opportunity to show its heartfelt gratitude towards Mr. Kay for his wonderful and continuous support towards ATS.
