New Academic Building:

Construction of the new academic block started in November 2007 and should see completion by mid 2008. With 10 classrooms in the new block we will have ample space for admission of new students in the coming years since the rooms in the main building previously occupied for classrooms will be vacant.

Computer Lab and Training Program:

Over the past few years, computers have become a vastly popular and necessary field of study. The luxury of emailing messages as opposed to charging up the phone bill is more appealing. Checking news, weather, and sports via the Internet is a convenience that many are taking advantage of. Our children's lives are already getting influenced by technology – and this is just the beginning. Computers and Internet are here to stay and software titles targeting young children continue to increase. Computer science has become a compulsory subject in schools. Today, we find computers in use everywhere, whether we go to reserve a train ticket or to a bank. Slowly traditions are being broken and the computer is becoming a child’s learning tool. Computers help children to be in control of their experience, to set their own pace, and to select the level of challenge with which they feel comfortable. They help children to use all of their senses to extract information and enable them to learn through creating, just as they gain hands-on knowledge and understanding when they build forts, make up stories, and paint, increase their skills. Moreover, computers fascinate kids and can draw their full attention, which often results in a deeper focus and concentration and as they master computers, children build positive attitudes toward technology that will pay dividends for the rest of their lives. Therefore ATS also plans to set up a proper computer lab and training program in 2008.

Playground with Slides, Swings etc:

Learning can be fun too! And playgrounds with various games, slides and swings are not only a great way of recreation and physical activity but they also instill in children a sense of friendship, teamwork and living in community. Since 80 percent of the students are below 15 years of age and need a lot of physical activity to help in their mental and physical growth, Ani Choying is working unceasingly towards raising funds for the establishment of a playground in the open, flat land in front of the school.

New Prayer Hall:

The five storied residential building in Pharphing is being used as a multifunctional building with classrooms, office, hostel etc all in one. We plan to build a separate building in the school premises for classrooms, library, laboratory, staff room, a bigger kitchen and dining hall to accommodate over 150 people. The importance of meditation and belief in the Supreme in any form is essential for the proper functional of our mind, body and soul. To promote spiritual fellowship not only amongst the nuns at the Arya Tara but to all who are associated with the school, Ani has plans to construct a new prayer hall as well, separate from the school building. She has been working unceasingly to raise enough funds for the construction and proper running of the above mentioned buildings.

Establishment of Kidney Hospital in Nepal:

Kidney diseases victimizes 2500- 3000 people in Nepal annually. Lack of exercise and unbalanced diet brought diabetes and blood pressure, which is the main cause of kidney diseases today. There are about 2.5 million people in Nepal suffering from one or another kind of kidney problem at present according to news released by the Nepal Society of Nephrologists and National Kidney Centre of Health Care Foundation (HECAF-Nepal). However, facility for kidney disease treatment on a mass scale, especially kidney transplantation has not begun in Nepal yet and therefore Nepalese are compelled to go to India and other countries where they spend humongous amount of money (NRs. 700,000/ $10,000) for treatment. Due to this, almost 90 percent kidney patients of Nepal are far from the access to the treatment. Moreover dialysis service started by the National Kidney Centre in Nepal falls very expensive for the ordinary man. For this reason and mainly for personal reasons dear to Ani Choying, she has taken up the challenge and has been working unceasingly to raise enough funds for the establishment of a 100-bed Kidney Hospital in Kathmandu. Ani Choying was also declared the Ambassador of World Kidney Day during the first ever-launched ‘World Kidney Day’.
